VTEX named a Visionary in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce

September 1, 2020

NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 01, 2020 – VTEX, a multinational tech company that provides a global, fully integrated, end-to-end commerce solution, announced today it has been named a “Visionary” in Gartner’s August 2020 Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce, an annual report that helps B2B and B2C sellers evaluate and select digital commerce platforms.

The COVID-19 pandemic has propelled the digital commerce market to new heights by forcing organizations into adoption and vendors into new approaches and pricing models, according to the new report. The report also predicts “by 2023, organizations that have operated enterprise marketplaces for more than one year will see at least a 10% increase in digital revenue.”

“We’re proud of the modern, flexible and scalable e-commerce and marketplace solutions we bring to VTEX customers, so for us, it is thrilling to be recognized by Gartner as a Visionary in our space,” said Amit Shah, Chief Strategy Officer and U.S. General Manager at VTEX. “Collaborative commerce is at the center of our vision and as VTEX expands its presence around the world, that value will continue to drive how we help B2B and B2C sellers grow.”

In the last year, VTEX has garnered significant customers, further enhanced its offerings, and secured $140 million to fund an expansion into North America, Europe and Asia based on three key strengths.

Commerce functionality and marketplace

VTEX’s marketplace platform technology is integrated with its OMS and commerce platform. This represents a clear differentiator as the launch of a marketplace often requires a separate technology integration, at substantial additional cost.

Breadth of functionality

VTEX’s platform contains many features for the end-to-end management of a digital commerce business, including order management and fulfillment. This makes the platform well suited to meet the needs of a growing number of complex enterprise organizations.

Extensibility and modularity

With a modular microservice-based architecture that is API-first, cloud native, and headless, VTEX gives customers the flexibility they need to help their business thrive under any conditions. Additionally, earlier this year, VTEX launched VTEX IO, a low-code development platform that enables users to customize and extend VTEX’s capabilities, increasing agility and accelerating innovation.

“Partnering with VTEX has simplified our online ordering process and expanded our contactless pick-up and delivery, giving us the agility and flexibility to not only keep customers at the heart of everything we do, but also do it safely and effectively in unprecedented times,” said France Roy, Global Head of Engineering at AB InBev.
