I was always interested in the tech field, in following this path.
I majored in Publicity and Advertising and then did a specialization in Technology and Digital Media. Because I was involved in that world, I already knew about VTEX and had been following its performance and growth in the market, especially through social media.
It was through VTEX’s Instagram that I learned about Women in Digital (WiD), which is the company’s program for accelerating women in Digital Commerce careers.
The program caught my attention right away, especially because it is geared towards women and because it has a curriculum designed and developed also by women. This is a pioneering initiative. It is hard to find programs with such an assertive position.
A while after the program, I was selected to join the VTEX team as an International Business Developer, working to accelerate projects within the company. It’s been an incredible experience!
What strikes me most about the company is the opportunity of having freedom and autonomy to create new things. It is a stimulating environment – I am challenged every day. I have grown and learned a lot.
Programs like Women in Digital are essential for other women to have the opportunity to enter the technology market. As we know, reality does not yet reflect equality.
I am happy that this is starting to change, and I hope that initiatives like this will become more and more an integral part of businesses. I also hope that, in addition to women, new programs will also work with other minorities.
Here at VTEX, we have other programs for women looking to start their careers in Digital Commerce or in other more technical areas. One example is the Tech Women Bootcamp, an initiative that aims to accelerate the career of female software engineers.
The VTEX DCS (VTEX Digital Commerce Specialist Program) opens doors for those who want to start their career with an immersion in all areas of the business.
