Data insights are more important than ever and at VTEX, we’ve been constantly working on ways to provide the most accurate data to our customers. It is why we’re excited to announce the launch of our Sales Performance Dashboard, right in time for the upcoming holiday shopping season. Starting from today, the new tool is available to all VTEX customers regardless of country of operation, and it offers retailers and brands unified commerce data for clear, accurate and quick business insights.
Why a Sales Performance Dashboard?
In an increasingly digital and complex society, data now plays a main role in the fate of businesses, especially in retail where customer behavior is ever-changing. Indeed, data processing, from gathering data to decoding it into actionable insights, is often a time-consuming burden for internal teams and it can make or break an ecommerce store.
As a matter of fact, Gartner’s Top 10 Trends in Data and Analytics for 2020 report highlights how businesses need to make use of sophisticated analytics to innovate in the post-COVID-19 world of retail. In these “unprecedented times”, both velocity and scale of analysis are needed for real-time and optimized decision-making. Moreover, data should be sourced from across the enterprise, even the ecosystem, to make sure companies obtain the full picture of their operations’ inner workings.
For that purpose, flexible and robust tools that place data front and center will be imperative. This is where VTEX’s Sales Performance Dashboard comes in: to future-proof your business.
VTEX’s Sales Performance Dashboard, the perfect tool
The new Sales Performance Dashboard centralizes all data, from every point of sale and seller, in a single place after sourcing it via the VTEX Order Management (OMS). Thanks to it, VTEX customers can promptly gain visibility and extract insights from their main sales metrics. By acting upon them quickly, they’ll be able to improve sales channels performance, increase their revenue and ultimately reach their sales goals.
How does it work?
First things first: to access the dashboard, go to the VTEX Admin sidebar and choose Insights and then Sales Performance. Only account users allowed to access “Insights” on the platform will have automatic access to the Sales Performance Dashboard, so make sure to align this before breaking the news to the team.
The Sales Performance Dashboard is easy to use, so no need to worry whether it will require time and effort from your team to use it — it won’t! There is no need to be a data expert to extract knowledge from it, nor to encapsulate said data in comprehensive reports.
Merchants can begin with a broader, high-level vision to identify best-performing products, promotions, categories and brands within a certain period or sales cycle. Dynamic graphs showing the trends for basic ecommerce metrics like revenue, orders, average order value (AOV) and items per order are displayed intuitively and are available in 3 languages (i.e. English, Spanish and Portuguese), with more coming soon.
Yet, the dashboard was designed from the ground up for advanced use cases. Ecommerce businesses with marketplace or omnichannel operations can keep track of their top sellers and sales channels performance, helping the sales team and sales managers strategize for the long term.
Filtering and grouping capabilities enhance the usability of the dashboard and create customized views that can be shared through a URL with fellow team members. Additionally, the sales dashboard allows customers to export all data and create complete reports about their online stores, as well as cross information with different external data sources, such as Google Analytics.
In a nutshell, with the Sales Performance Dashboard, available from now onwards by default on the VTEX Commerce Platform, your business – and team – obtain:
- A single control panel for all orders;
- Robust analytics and insights;
- An understanding of the business’s growth drivers;
- An awareness about why sales KPIs are growing or declining;
- Opportunities for optimized product selection, seller management and sales channel management decisions.
Now, commerce businesses are just one insight away from success.
