The leading marketplace-commerce-OMS platform brings on the industry veteran during an impressive growth period
NEW YORK, August 19, 2020 — VTEX, a multinational tech company that provides a global, fully integrated, end-to-end commerce solution, today announced Robert Werkema as its new Vice President, Strategic Customers to help enterprise businesses rapidly achieve success in their digital commerce strategies.
As former Global Vice President of Customer Management at SAP, Werkema brings his extensive experience in digital transformation and systems development to the VTEX customer base. His substantial background in working with enterprise ecommerce customers allows him to help customers execute new business models while streamlining existing processes.

Werkema was an early member of Hybris who helped grow its customer base. Following the acquisition of Hybris by SAP, he expanded the company’s success as Global Vice President of Customer Management. Before Hybris, Werkema was General Manager of Ecommerce for Endeca — a position he held until Endeca’s acquisition by Oracle. He also spent over five years at IBM leading the growth of its WebSphere Commerce business.
Werkema joins a substantial roster of experienced executives in commerce, order management and marketplaces who were brought on this year, including Amit Shah, Joseph Lee and George Chang, among others.
