TETRIX, a university challenge, was recently acknowledged as the biggest business study competition by Guinness World Records (GWR) for achieving record participation in 2021. Between April and October, the third edition had more than 154,000 participants from 84 countries, and 67,972 participants completed the first testing phase. The final phases were held in Brazil, bringing together 24 finalists from 8 nationalities and creating a diverse social environment through a plurality of ethnicities and cultures.

It aims to inspire young talents to learn more about digital commerce and introduce them to different career opportunities; the challenge was composed of 100 questions, divided into 5 phases. The 2021 winner, Chilean student Francisca Avaria won a trip across five continents to visit big techs and attend events and seminars on technology and digital transformation. Besides her, the podium was composed only of women. Nívea Virgolino, from Brazil, took second place, and Nikita Machigani, from India, third place. It is worth mentioning that in this edition, women represented more than 64% of the participants.

“Four years ago, when we launched TETRIX, as an educational program to encourage young talent to pursue a digital career, we didn’t know what we were about to achieve. Now, we are honored to have been officially acknowledged by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest business studies competition. We know the importance of encouraging these talents, as the digital industry can bring more balance to an unbalanced world and development to communities,” adds Mariano Gomide de Faria, founder and co-CEO of VTEX.

Promoted by VTEX, a digital commerce platform for enterprise brands and retailers., and sponsored by ACCT, AWS, Ecomsur, Elo, FGV-EAESP, and Vinneren, the challenge fosters the digital ecosystem by building a valuable network of future-proof talent. These companies also have access to the participants who stand out for future hiring.
